Vermes is in his 14th season as Sporting Kansas City Manager in 2022, making him the longest-tenured head coach in MLS and fifth among active managers in global soccer. His 222 coaching victories in all competitions are the most club history and he has won four major trophies during his tenure – the 2012, 2015 and 2017 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cups and the 2013 MLS Cup championship, making him the only person to ever win the MLS Cup as both a player and a coach with the same team.
After a 1-0 win over the Seattle Sounders on Sunday in the club's home finale, Sporting Kansas City is unbeaten in seven straight matches - the longest active streak in MLS - and will close out the 2022 campaign this Sunday on the road against FC Dallas at Toyota Stadium in Frisco, Texas.Â
The Western Conference clash will kick off at 4:18 p.m. CT and will be locally broadcast on 38 The Spot with radio coverage on ESPN KC 94.5 FM and La Grande 1340 AM. The broadcast will also stream live on SportingKC.com and in the Sporting KC app for viewers in Kansas and Missouri (excluding the St. Louis area per MLS policy), as well as ESPN+ for out-of-market subscribers.
