Sporting KC midfielder Soni Mustivar featured as as second-half substitute in Haiti's 1-0 loss at Costa Rica on Friday night in CONCACAF World Cup qualifying.

Costa Rica took a first-half lead in the 29th minute when Cristian Gamboa pounced on a rebound. Haiti goalkeeper Johnny Placide made an initial save on Johan Venegas' long range effort but couldn't deny Gamboa.

Haiti's best chance was just before halftime as Roman Gennevois' header was denied by the post. In first-half stoppage time, Gennevois headed a cross towards goal but Costa Rica goalkeeper Patrick Pemberton was able to tip the ball onto the post.

Mustivar entered the match in the 60th minute, marking his seventh cap with the squad and first appearance in 2018 World Cup qualifying. Mustivar last played for Haiti at the 2014 CFU Caribbean Cup last November to help his country qualify for this year's CONCACAF Gold Cup.
