The Visit Tucson Sun Cup will highlight the second phase of Sporting’s 2020 preseason, presented by Children’s Mercy Sports Medicine. The tournament winner will be determined by total points earned across three matches (three for a win, one for a draw and zero for a loss).
Tickets to Visit Tucson Sun Cup matches are available now at FCTucson.com. Sporting joins the tournament field alongside RSL, Rising FC, New York, Columbus Crew SC and the Houston Dynamo.
Led by 12th-year manager Peter Vermes, Sporting will spend both legs of preseason in Arizona, training from Jan. 19 – Feb. 2 and from Feb. 8-23. The club will announce its full preseason schedule in the near future.
Celebrating its 25th year as a charter member of Major League Soccer, Sporting will kick off the 2020 MLS regular season on Feb. 29 with a visit to Vancouver Whitecaps FC at BC Place. Vermes’ men will then host Houston in the club’s home opener on March 7 at world-class Children’s Mercy Park.
The best way to guarantee tickets for 2020 home matches at Children’s Mercy Park is to join the Sporting Kansas City family and become a Season Ticket Member. Several multi-game ticket packages for the 2020 season are also on sale now at SportingKC.com, including the limited-time Home Opener Pack that bundles the game on March 7 with two flex matches. Single-game tickets for the first half of Sporting’s home schedule will go on sale to the general public in the coming weeks.
