UPDATE: With the Chiefs Super Bowl Parade scheduled for Wednesday, Sporting Kansas City's 2020 Season Launch Party has been moved to Thursday, Feb. 6.
Sporting Kansas City fans are invited to attend the club’s 2020 Season Launch Party presented by Ivy Investments on Thursday, Feb. 6, at Children’s Mercy Park.
Held in partnership with adidas and Michelob Ultra, the Season Launch Party is free and open to the public. The interactive event will run from 5-8:30 p.m. CT, highlighted by autograph opportunities with all Sporting players and the first chance to buy Sporting’s newly revealed 2020 secondary jersey.
Supporters planning to attend must secure one of two ticket options via SeatGeek.com. Fans can claim a complimentary ticket, granting free admission to the event, or upgrade to a $10 ticket that includes a 10-item premium food tasting from the newly revamped concession locations at Children’s Mercy Park. Guests will gain entry through mobile ticketing only and can obtain their ticket through the SeatGeek app.
The Season Launch Party will begin in the Budweiser Brew House, with doors opening at 5 p.m. CT and free parking in the Red Lot. Beverages will be available for purchase and Sporting’s eMLS player Alekzandur will welcome guests to play FIFA 20 inside No Other Bus presented by Security Bank. Food in the Budweiser Brew House will be available exclusively through the 10-item tasting for $10.
Upon entering the Budweiser Brew House, fans will get their first look at Sporting’s new secondary jersey, which will go on sale at the launch party and on MLSstore.com that evening. For the second straight year, supporters will have an exclusive pre-order opportunity before the jersey is unveiled. Starting Thursday, Jan. 30, fans can visit SportingStyle.com to pre-order the 2020 secondary kit. All guests who buy the new jersey sight unseen will receive a $20 SportingStyle gift card at the launch party. Those who buy the kit at the event will receive a $10 SportingStyle gift card with their purchase.
Beginning at 6:30 p.m. CT, the season-opening celebration will transition to the Sporting Bay for introductions and appearances from Sporting players and coaches, who will be available to sign autographs at the end of the night.
Celebrating its 25th year as a charter member of Major League Soccer, Sporting will kick off the 2020 MLS regular season on Feb. 29 at Vancouver Whitecaps FC before hosting rivals Houston Dynamo in the club’s home opener on March 7.
The best way to guarantee tickets for 2020 home matches is to join the Sporting Kansas City family and become a Season Ticket Member. Several multi-game ticket packages for the 2020 campaign are also on sale, including the limited-time Home Opener Pack that bundles the game on March 7 with two flex matches. Single-game tickets for the first half of Sporting’s home schedule will go on sale to the general public in the near future.
