Sporting Kansas City and Sports Radio 810 WHB announced on Tuesday a new three-year local broadcast partnership for Sports Radio 810 WHB to continue as the official radio home of Sporting KC through the 2020 season.
“We are thrilled to announce our partnership with Sporting Kansas City, one of the premier clubs in MLS,” said Union Broadcasting Chief Operating Officer Alok Srivastava. “The passion of the team’s fan base is unrivaled and as Sporting KC’s official broadcast partner, we look forward to being the home for exclusive Sporting KC content for many years to come. We are excited to bring our listeners the best, most comprehensive coverage of Sporting KC on the preeminent sports radio station in the Midwest, Sports Radio 810 WHB, locally owned and operated for over 20 years.”
“We’re excited to continue our agreement with Sports Radio 810 WHB for another three years,” said Sporting Kansas City President Jake Reid. “Sports Radio 810 WHB has become a well-established destination for Sporting Kansas City programming and remains an important part of our regional broadcast network to reach fans throughout the Midwest.”
Sports Radio 810 WHB, along with sister stations 94.5 FM and 1510 AM, will broadcast all 34 of Sporting Kansas City’s MLS regular season matches this season, which began last night at Children’s Mercy Park and will continue through the regular season finale on Oct. 28 against MLS newcomers LAFC.
Sports Radio 810 WHB will also air the one-hour Sporting KC Show each week with hosts Nate Bukaty and Carter Augustine, as well as The Final Whistle postgame show hosted by Dave Borchardt and Chad Reynolds immediately following Sporting KC matches.
Sports Radio 810 WHB has become one of the largest and most listened to sports radio stations in the country since its formation in 1999. In addition to an over-the-air audience that includes five states (Missouri, Kansas, Iowa, Nebraska and Oklahoma), Sports Radio 810 WHB can also be streamed online at 810whb.com or via their mobile app.
The station first hosted the Kansas City Soccer Show in 2010 and regularly features interviews with Sporting KC players, coaches and executives – available after they air as podcasts on both 810whb.com and SportingKC.com.
