Twenty3, a sports technology platform that consolidates and optimizes data from leading providers, announced today a new Toolbox partnership with Major League Soccer club Sporting Kansas City.
The agreement will see the Content and Analytics Toolbox rolled out across the club’s Technical, Recruitment and Media teams using data from Wyscout across 12 different leagues.
The Technical and Recruitment departments will have access to the Analytics Toolbox’s full suite of features, including the recently released Event Lab and Power Reports. The Recruitment team will take advantage of the latter to fully customize and automate their player reports, reducing the download process from hours to minutes.
Meanwhile, on the Media side, Sporting KC – who are renowned in North America for their success in fan engagement – will utilize the Content Toolbox to enrich content across their vibrant digital channels.
As ever, Twenty3 will work closely with the various different teams to build their bespoke reports, branded graphic templates and user requirements, ensuring the Toolbox experience is entirely personalized to the individual.
The agreement represents a significant step forward with different departments within a football club joining forces to reap the benefits from the same platform.
Across the Pro and the Media divisions, the Toolbox will allow Sporting Kansas to optimize their processes, automate their workflows, produce richer analysis and introduce more unique, data-driven content to their channels.
Simon McMillan, Twenty3 CEO, expressed his delight at the agreement:
“We are delighted that Sporting Kansas City have become our first MLS customer. I’m particularly delighted that they will be utilizing both the Analytics and Content Toolbox as we see this as a great way for soccer clubs to maximise their return on investment. Sporting KC have made a great start to the MLS season and I wish Kerry and the team well in the remainder of the championship.”
Sporting Kansas City are one of 10 MLS charter teams after their birth as the Kansas City Wiz in the league’s inaugural 1996 season. They are one of the division’s most successful clubs, with two MLS Cups, one Supporters’ Shield and four U.S. Open Cups in their trophy cabinet.
Kerry Zavagnin, Sporting Kansas City Assistant Coach, had his say on the deal:
“The ability for Sporting to pursue a vertically aligned organization both on and off the field has driven us from the beginning. Fortunately, we have found a partner in Twenty3 who will support us in the pursuit of these objectives.
“The Analytics Toolbox will allow our Technical and Recruitment departments to gain more valuable insights from the multiple data providers currently used in the club. In addition, the Content Toolbox will allow us to create more meaningful content for our fans. We look forward to developing these ideas and more with Twenty3.”
Sam Kovzan, Sporting Kansas City Content Producer, added:
“The Twenty3 Toolbox will give Sporting Kansas City an excellent opportunity to inform and engage our supporters like never before. Through this dynamic platform, we are better positioned to create compelling visual content for our television broadcasts, social media channels, web properties and at Children’s Mercy Park during home matches.”
Twenty3 are very excited to kick off with Sporting Kansas City and look forward to seeing the club continue their success both on and off the pitch.
