The countdown to Sunday's 2018 season opener at Children's Mercy Park continues Saturday with the Sporting KC Block Party at Town Center Plaza in Leawood, Kansas (5000 W 119th Street).
The family-friendly event is free and open to the public, running from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. CT. Interactive programming will include live music, yard games, an array of Sporting KC merchandise and ticket giveaways, as well as appearances from select Sporting KC players.
Sporting Kansas City kicks off the 2018 MLS regular season on Sunday, hosting New York City FC in a nationally televised clash on FS1. Kickoff is set for 6:30 p.m. CT at Children's Mercy Park, and tickets are available via SeatGeek.com or by calling 888-4KC-GOAL. The first 15,000 fans through the stadium gates will receive a free 2018 schedule magnet courtesy of Children's Mercy.
