Sporting Kansas City forward Alan Pulido was named to the MLS Team of the Matchday on Monday for Matchday 31 of the 2023 campaign, earning a spot on the bench after scoring in Sporting's 3-2 loss at Inter Miami CF on Saturday.
After missing all of the 2022 season due to knee surgery, Pulido continued his MLS Comeback Player of the Year campaign with his 13th goal of the regular season - second most in MLS - in the 78th minute at DRV PNK Stadium in Fort Lauderdale.
In his fourth season with the club, Pulido now has 27 goals in 56 regular season games and sits atop Sporting's all-time goals per game chart. The Mexican striker has been in red-hot form this summer with an MLS-best 12 goals since the start of June and the World Cup veteran has a team-best 14 goals in all competitions this season.
Sitting two points outside playoff position, Sporting Kansas City will continue the club's push for the postseason at 7:30 p.m. CT this Saturday when the team takes on Minnesota United FC at Allianz Field in Saint Paul, Minnesota. The Western Conference clash will be broadcast live on Apple TV in English and Spanish for MLS Season Pass subscribers. Local radio coverage will air on ESPN Kansas City 94.5 FM and 1510 AM as well as La Grande 1340 AM with streams in the Sporting KC app, while  pub partners in the Sporting Pub Network will also show all of the action.
