Sporting Kansas City announced today that forward Gerso Fernandes has undergone successful surgery to repair a broken left wrist and will be sidelined for four to six weeks. He suffered the injury in the second half of Saturday’s 4-4 draw against the New England Revolution at Children’s Mercy Park.

Gerso, 28, has recorded four goals and four assists in 13 appearances this season across all competitions. He has amassed 20 goals and 11 assists for Sporting since joining the side in early 2017.

Sporting will host the club’s highly anticipated Retro Night this Sunday when defending MLS Cup champion Atlanta United FC visits Children’s Mercy Park for a marquee matchup at 8 p.m. CT. Tickets for the game are on sale at SeatGeek.com, and the first 10,000 fans through the stadium gates will receive a retro-themed team poster courtesy of The Kansas City Zoo.
