Feb. 7, 2018 marked National Signing Day for high school soccer players. Since that day, over 180 youth players from Sporting KC’s youth development programs have made commitments to take their game to the college level.
With Sporting KC’s recognized “Pathway to the Pros” initiative successfully established through the Academy Affiliates and Sporting KC Academy, the club has been focused on providing more resources to support the college player pathway. As part of a renewed Sporting Club Network partnership with GSI, Sporting KC launched SHOWCASE KC in late 2017, rebranding and upgrading the already successful college showcase tournament hosted by GSI. By coming together for this event, both organizations are providing additional resources for players wanting to be seen by college coaches, while further solidifying their commitment to improving the college recruitment process for competitive players across the Midwest.
Building off that commitment, Sporting KC is excited to announce its first-ever College ID Camp, which will be hosted at the new world-class Pinnacle National Development Center in mid-July. The College ID Camp will provide yet another opportunity for players to be seen and evaluated by the region’s top college coaches.
Players attending the ID Camp will have the chance to have a valuable training experience led by SKC Staff, have one-on-one college coach interaction and evaluation, and hear about the college recruitment process through a Q&A with current college coaches. The world-class environment of Pinnacle NDC will provide players and coaches the perfect occasion to succeed in the college recruitment experience.
The Boys’ ID Camp will be held on Saturday, July 14, followed by the Girls’ ID Camp on Sunday, July 15. For more information or to register, click here.
