Last Sunday, Sporting Kansas City players wore a patch on their jerseys in honor of Kansas City, Kan., Detective Brad Lancaster, who was killed the previous Monday in the line of duty.
Lancaster's daughters, Brianna and Jillian, took part in Sunday's prematch festivities, delivering the game ball and receiving a standing ovation from the sold-out Children's Mercy Park crowd.
Now, Sporting KC fans can do their part to support the Lancaster family through an online auction. Sporting KC is auctioning off the game-worn jerseys of all 18 players who dressed for the match. All proceeds from the auction will be given to the Brad Lancaster Memorial Fund.
