The excitement for the 2025 season of Sporting Kansas City got off to an energetic start with the team’s Block Party, an event designed to bring fans and the team together. Fans had the chance to interact with their favorite players in a variety of fun and engaging ways, from participating in thrilling Minute to Win It-style games to taking part in heart-to-heart conversations. The atmosphere was lively and filled with excitement for the season, with players leaving and going into the crowd, signing autographs, taking photos, and connecting with supporters on a personal level.
But the event wasn’t just about fun and games—it was also an opportunity to give back to the community. A central highlight of the Block Party was the Harvesters Food Drive, where attendees were encouraged to bring non-perishable food items to help fight hunger in the Kansas City area. For every five items donated, fans were entered for a chance to win a personalized 2025 Sporting KC kit and a special warm-up experience at a 2025 regular-season game.
The generosity of those who attended was nothing short of inspiring, with more than 300 pounds of food donations collected for Harvesters. Harvesters is a local nonprofit organization that provides food and related household products to over 900 agencies, including emergency food pantries, community kitchens, homeless shelters, and children’s homes. Beyond food distribution, the organization also runs educational programs focused on raising awareness of hunger issues and promoting good nutrition.
Maigan Bridgette, the Community Impact Manager for Sporting Kansas City, shared her gratitude for the event: “The Block Party was a fantastic opportunity to bring our fans together while making a meaningful impact through our partnership with Harvesters. Seeing our community rally to fight hunger was inspiring, and we’re grateful for everyone who contributed to the Harvesters Food Drive to support our community.”
