Sporting KC is proud to announce that Academy Affiliate players Maria Haro & Holly Schneider of Sporting JB Marine have been nominated to participate in this year’s Generation adidas International Select Program. They represent two of the 32 spots for the German club, F.F.C. Frankfurt. During the July 3rd SKC match at Children’s Mercy Park earlier this month, the two girls received special on-field recognition at to celebrate this tremendous accomplishment in front of a packed house.
Both Maria and Holly will have the opportunity to experience the high-level training environment & vibrant soccer culture at F.F.C. Frankfurt, one of the most prestigious women’s programs in the world. Having won 7 Bundesliga titles, 9 German Cups, as well as 4 Women’s Champions League titles, F.F.C. Frankfurt is one of the most successful clubs in women’s soccer, on both the national and international stage. The girls will experience elite-level development through specialized training with academy coaches, international friendly matches against academy teams, and individual evaluations.
For the last 9 years, Generation adidas International has partnered with premier adidas clubs to develop youth soccer in the United States on the international level. Generation adidas International offers an exclusive opportunity through its Select Programs, inviting talented players to train at three of the world’s most powerful soccer clubs: Real Madrid, A.F.C. Ajax, and FFC Frankfurt.
Each year, the top adidas clubs nationwide have the exclusive opportunity to nominate players to participate in the program. This summer, 96 talented players from some of the nation’s top clubs will take the field for this exclusive opportunity.
Generation adidas International prides itself on providing opportunities to those who wish to develop themselves at the most elite level. John Parker, former Select Program Director, states, “The opportunity they have, we believe it really ignites the ambition – players return to the U.S. going into their development academy season or their regional season, really understanding what it takes to become professionals.”
Maria & Holly will be travelling to Germany to represent Sporting JB Marine & Sporting Kansas City in just under a month’s time from August 13th through the 21st.
