Sporting Kansas City has released the club's roster for the 2018 preseason, presented by Children's Mercy.
The preseason squad will consist of at least 37 players – the 27 currently under MLS contract, four members of the Swope Park Rangers, four unsigned MLS SuperDraft selections and two players from the Sporting KC Academy.
The SPR quartet joining Sporting KC in Arizona consists of 19-year-old midfielders Felipe Hernandez and Wan Kuzain Wan Kamal as well as offseason arrivals Hadji Barry and Rodrigo Saravia. Forward Will Bagrou, goalkeeper Eric Dick, and defenders Graham Smith and Wilfred Williams represent the MLS SuperDraft contingent. Lastly, 17-year-old midfielder Sebastian Cruz and 16-year-old defender Cameron Duke arrive from the Sporting KC Academy.
For the fourth consecutive year, Sporting KC will spend both legs of preseason in the state of Arizona, training in Scottsdale through Feb. 3 and then in Tucson from Feb. 9-25. The first phase includes tune-ups against Phoenix Rising FC trialists on Saturday, UPSL club Sporting Arizona next Wednesday, and fellow MLS outfit Colorado Rapids on Feb. 3. Phoenix Rising Soccer Complex will host all three games.
