Sporting KC scoreboard watching tonight in CCL -

Sporting Kansas City might have the week off from CONCACAF Champions League play, but there are still matches being played this week that have an impact on Peter Vermes' squad.

First and foremost is Tuesday night's showdown in Honduras between Sporting KC's Group 2 mates Real Esteli FC and CD Olimpia. Sporting KC currently leads the group with seven points after three games. Olimpia has three points after two games and needs a win or a draw to stay alive in the tournament. Real Esteli has one point after three games and cannot advance out of the group.

If Real Esteli upsets Olimpia tonight, Sporting KC would clinch first place in their group and advance to the quarterfinals. If Olimpia earns a win or a draw, Sporting KC would need at least a draw in their group stage finale against Olimpia (10/23, Buy Tickets) to advance to the next round. Tuesday's match kicks off at 9 p.m. CT and can be seen on FOX Soccer 2Go.

Elsewhere around CONCACAF, the Montreal Impact will look to keep their CCL dreams alive when they host Guatemalan club CD Heredia tonight at Stade Saputo. Montreal needs to defeat Heredia by at least four goals to have a chance at advancing to the next round.

There are six other matches being played in CCL this week that could impact Sporting KC should they advance to the quarterfinals. The eight group winners are seeded in the quarterfinals based on number of points earned in the group stage with goal differential the first tie-breaker. Should Sporting KC advance and finish as one of the top four group winners, they will have home-field advantage in the quartefinals and host their opponent in the second leg.
