The Sporting KC Show Podcast, dropping throughout the season on Sports Radio 810 WHB, is now available on Spotify and iTunes. With Nate Bukaty and Carter Augustine hosting the weekly program, Sporting fans now have a place to go to catch up on club storylines, player achievements, guest interviews and more.
Indeed, summer in the soccer capital has reached a fever pitch.
For starters, Sporting Kansas City will take the field twice this week at Children's Mercy Park. Manager Peter Vermes' side host MLS Supporters' Shield leaders LAFC on Wednesday before battling the Chicago Fire on Saturday.
The U.S. Women's National Team has continued its inspirational pursuit of a second straight FIFA World Cup title, defeating England on Tuesday to book a spot in Sunday's final. On a regional scale, the U.S. Men's National Team is on a redemption quest and will face Jamaica in the Concacaf Gold Cup semifinals on Wednesday in Nashville.
With talking points aplenty and several matches to reflect upon and preview, Tuesday night's episode of The Sporting KC Show with hosts Nate Bukaty and Carter Augustine was a must-listen.
The newest edition of the podcast features an appearance from Spanish center back Andreu Fontas, who joined the show during his visit to the AT&T Store in Kansas City, Missouri, where he signed autographs and took photos with fans. Fontas reflected on his upbringing, his breakthrough into heralded Spanish juggernaut FC Barcelona and his transition to Sporting, where he hopes to help the team to a pair of home wins this week.
Bukaty and Augustine were also buzzing about another electric Women's World Cup in the Kansas City Power & Light District, which garnered media coverage across the world and creates palpable excitement for Sunday's final at 10 a.m. CT.
The duo also saved room to discuss the Sporting Kansas City Fantasy Experience, running from July 20-21 at Pinnacle with Vermes, newly announced Sporting Legend Josh Wolff and other Sporting coaches giving participants the ultimate two-day soccer experience at Pinnacle and Children's Mercy Park. FOX Sports Kansas City Plus, FOX Sports Midwest Plus and FOX Sports GO will provide three hours of live coverage starting at 7 p.m. CT, while Sports Radio 810 WHB and ESPN Deportes KC 1480 AM will carry local radio broadcasts with The Final Whistle postgame show immediately following on 810 WHB.
In celebration of the Fourth of July, all supporters in attendance are invited to stay at Children’s Mercy Park for a postgame fireworks show that will begin approximately 15 minutes after Sporting and LAFC exit the field. Fans will also have the chance to purchase the new Men’s Americana Top at SportingStyle locations inside the stadium while supplies last.
