Dr. Dionne Busio, the mother of Sporting Kansas City midfielder Gianluca Busio, shared the amazing story of how her talented son transitioned from his native North Carolina to Kansas City, where he has blossomed into a bona fide star in Major League Soccer. Dr. Busio, who teaches at Appalachian State University, also gave fascinating insight on her family's background and the unique traits that have allowed Gianluca Busio to fulfill his soccer dreams at such a young age.

After a stellar debut for the United States Men's National Team on Sunday at Children's Mercy Park, Gianluca is in contention for his first U.S. MNT start tonight as the Americans return to the world-class stadium for a Concacaf Gold Cup Group B showdown with Martinique.
