Sporting KC Show Podcast presented by Michelob Ultra: Transfer news, duel with Dallas and more

Running throughout the season on Sports Radio 810 WHB, the Sporting Kansas City Show presented by Michelob Ultra is available on several podcast hubs such as Spotify and iTunes as well as SportingKC.com. With Nate Bukaty, Aly Trost and Conall McCourt hosting the weekly program, Sporting fans have a place to go to catch up on club storylines, guest interviews and more.

The newest episode of the Sporting Kansas City Show, presented by Michelob Ultra, dropped Wednesday night on Sports Radio 810 WHB as hosts Nate Bukaty and Aly Trost caught up on several compelling storylines surrounding the club.

First on the agenda? Sporting’s roster has undergone a notable transformation over the past week. Headlines were made late last week when 19-year-old Sporting KC Academy product and United States international midfielder Gianluca Busio was transferred to Italian Serie A side Venezia FC in a club-record deal. The announcement came the same day that Sporting signed 25-year-old Argentine-Italian midfielder Jose Mauri, who boasts six seasons of Serie A experience in Italy.

Secondly, Bukaty and Trost reflected on Sporting’s defeat to Club Leon in the 2021 Leagues Cup on Tuesday night at Children’s Mercy Park. As disappointing as the result may have been, Bukaty and Trost cited fixture congestion, lingering injuries and Sporting’s current position atop the Western Conference standings as explanations for why the loss may benefit Manager Peter Vermes’ side in the long term.

The episode closed with an illuminating 15-minute segment with guest Jon Arnold, an accomplished soccer journalist who publishes the Getting CONCACAFed newsletter and covers FC Dallas, the opponent that Sporting will visit on Saturday night at Toyota Park.

Slated to kick off at 7:30 p.m. CT, Saturday’s clash with Dallas (5-7-6, 21 points) presents Sporting (10-4-4, 34 points) an opportunity at revenge, as Vermes’ men took a 2-1 loss to the Texas outfit on July 31 at Children’s Mercy Park. Supporters can follow the action live on Bally Sports Kansas City Plus, Bally Sports Midwest Plus, BallySports.com and the Bally Sports app as well as Sports Radio 810 WHB and La Grande 1340 AM.
