Earlier this month, Sporting Kansas City staff and Sporting U NIL Athletes volunteered at Camp WIN to lead soccer sessions for girls between the ages of 7-12 years old from across the Kansas City area.

“At Sporting KC, we are always excited about being uniquely and intentionally engaged in community programming such as Camp WIN,” said Maigan Bridgette, Sporting Kansas City’s Community Impact Manager. “It was great to see all the different members of our club come together to give the campers a great experience and share our passion for soccer."

Two members of Sporting Kansas City’s technical staff -- Director of Player Care and Support Betsy Maxfield as well as Mental Performance Coach Becky Wiseman – served as guest speakers to share a presentation focused on preparation both on and off the field.

In addition, Sporting Kansas City front office associates and all three women’s soccer players in the Sporting U NIL Program took the field to lead soccer activities for the campers with Jericho Frigon (Kansas State University), Keegan Good (University of Missouri) and Hallie Klanke (University of Kansas) volunteering their time and talent to give back to the next generation of student-athletes.

"It was an honor to be able to get involved with Camp WIN this year and specifically to be able to include our Sporting U NIL Athletes in the coaching of this camp,” said Jon Felton, Sporting Kansas City’s Manager of Fan Development. “For us, it's exciting to activate our NIL program in such an impactful way and to see it continue to connect with our community here in Kansas City. This was truly special, especially for some of our athletes who attended this camp as campers growing up."

Camp WIN is held by the Women’s Intersport Network for Kansas City (WIN for KC) each summer to introduce girls in the community to new sports and fitness activities while learning life skills in a fun, safe and encouraging environment.

“Our partnership with Sporting KC is so special on many levels,” said Taylor Obersteadt, Director of WIN for KC. “It is important for girls in our community to see professional teams invest in their futures and encourage them to find joy and lifelong lessons through sports like soccer. It’s not only through sponsorship of Camp WIN, but also working with the girls on the field to ignite their passion for the game and make a personal impact on their lives."

WIN for KC was established in 1994 to empower the lives of girls and women through advocating and promoting the lifetime value of sports and fitness, while providing opportunities for participation and leadership development.
