The 2022 United Soccer Coaches Convention will take place from Jan. 19-23 as thousands of coaches, players, officials and administrators from across the sport convene in Kansas City for the annual five-day event to celebrate soccer's past, present and future.
Last held in Kansas City in 2012, the convention features a wide variety of programming including coaching education sessions, advocacy events, social functions, awards banquets and an exhibit hall with more than 225 vendors.
Sporting Kansas City will join the array of activity with the club's presence visible in the following festivities:
- Manager Peter Vermes, a past presenter at the Convention, has recorded a special welcome message for attendees
- Four Sporting Kansas City staff members will be among the 200+ presenters with sessions scheduled during the convention

- Sporting Kansas City's marketing and youth soccer departments will be in the Exhibit Hall at Booth 341 from Thursday thru Saturday with water bottles, headbands, stickers and magnets for attendees while supplies last
- Midfielder Roger Espinoza and his wife Lo'eau LaBonta will be honored with the United Soccer Coaches Honorary All-America Award during the All-America Ceremony and Reception at 1 p.m. on Saturday
- Sporting Kansas City is a supporting sponsor of the Walt Chyzowych Award Ceremony and Reception at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday
Founded in 1941 and based in Kansas City, United Soccer Coaches has grown in the world's largest soccer coaches' organization that serves members at every level of the game. The 2022 United Soccer Coaches Convention is the biggest international event coming to Kansas City in 2022, according to the Kansas City Business Journal, with an estimated economic impact of over $13 million.
