Sporting Kansas City (2-2-4, 10 points) will host the club’s highly anticipated Retro Night on Sunday when defending MLS Cup champion Atlanta United FC (2-3-2, 8 points) visits Children’s Mercy Park for a marquee MLS matchup at 8 p.m. CT. Tickets for the contest are on sale at SeatGeek.com, and the first 10,000 fans through the stadium gates will receive a retro-themed team poster courtesy of match sponsor Kansas City Zoo.
Continuing a long-standing Retro Night tradition, fans will have the opportunity to purchase the club’s new retro jersey at SportingStyle locations inside the stadium on Sunday while supplies last. Ticket holders can also pre-order their retro kit at SportingStyle.com, while all supporters purchase it online at MLSstore.com beginning Wednesday. Sporting players will wear the new jersey during pregame warmups, paying tribute to the Kansas City Wiz’s vintage rainbow look during the inaugural 1996 MLS season.
Sunday's match will be televised nationally on FS1 and FOX Deportes, while Sports Radio 810 WHB and ESPN Deportes KC 1480 AM will carry local radio broadcasts. Viewers can also stream the game live on FOX Sports GO, and The Final Whistle postgame show will air immediately afterward on 810 WHB.
A new episode of The Sporting KC Show Podcast will debut at 7 p.m. CT Tuesday on Sports Radio 810 WHB. Hosts Nate Bukaty and Carter Augustine will hear from a Sporting KC guest, recap Saturday's thriller against New England and look ahead to this weekend's battle with Atlanta.
Sporting midfielder Gianluca Busio and forward Tyler Freeman have joined the United States U-17 Men’s National Team for the 2019 Concacaf U-17 Championship, running from May 1-16 at IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida. Placed in Group F, the USA will begin the tournament against Canada on Thursday at 5 p.m. CT before facing Barbados on Saturday at 3 p.m. CT. Both matches will stream live in English on the Concacaf Facebook page and air live in Spanish on Univision Deportes Network.
Sporting KC Academy forward Osvaldo Cisneros has joined the United States U-15 Boys' National Team for the 2019 Torneo delle Nazioni, a prestigious youth international tournament that concludes Sunday in Gradisca, Italy. Cisneros and the USA, who beat India 3-0 on Sunday and lost to Slovenia 1-0 today, will conclude the group stage against Mexico at 10 a.m. CT Tuesday.
The Sporting KC Academy U-15s, U-17s and U-19s will resume their U.S. Soccer Development Academy campaign this weekend, playing a pair of tripleheaders in the state of Colorado.
