Sporting Kansas City will face two opponents in Arizona this week to close out the 2020 preseason, presented by Children’s Mercy.
At 8 p.m. CT Wednesday, Sporting will visit USL Championship club Phoenix Rising FC at Casino Arizona Field in Tempe, Arizona. At 3 p.m. CT Saturday, Manager Peter Vermes’ side will battle fellow MLS outfit New York Red Bulls. Both matches are part of the 2020 Visit Tucson Sun Cup and will stream live on SportingKC.com to viewers in the Kansas City region. Sporting Kansas City II opened its 2020 preseason on Saturday with a 1-1 draw against USL Championship counterparts OKC Energy FC on Saturday at Stryker Sports Complex in Wichita, Kansas. Led by head coach Paulo Nagamura, Sporting II will continue their preseason preparations this Saturday with a scrimmage against Iowa Western Community College at Swope Soccer Village in Kansas City, Missouri. Admission is free and open to the public.
The Sporting Kansas City Academy U-17s and U-15s will conclude their 2019-20 Generation adidas Cup Qualifying campaigns today, facing the Seattle Sounders FC Academy at Dignity Health Sports Park in Carson, California. The U-17s will kick off at 1 p.m. CT, followed by the U-15s at 3 p.m. CT. Follow @SKCAcademy on Twitter for live updates.
While the U-17s and U-15s compete in California, the Sporting KC Academy U-14s will take the court today as the 2020 US Youth Futsal National Championships conclude at New Century Fieldhouse in New Century, Kansas (551 New Century Pkwy.). Lastly, the Sporting KC U-19s, U-17s and U-15s will travel to Dallas this weekend for the resumption of the 2019-20 U.S. Soccer Development Academy regular season, meeting Solar SC on Saturday and FC Dallas on Sunday. Both tripleheaders will see the U-15s take the field at 9 a.m. CT, followed by the U-17s at 11 a.m. CT and the U-19s at 1 p.m. CT.
