Following a 3-0 win over Seattle Sounders FC and a 2-0 defeat to Vancouver Whitecaps FC last week, Sporting Kansas City (6-3-4, 22 points) enters Week 13 of the Major League Soccer season atop the Western Conference standings. The club will return to action Saturday against the Colorado Rapids (2-8-1, 7 points) at Dick's Sporting Goods Park in Commerce City, Colorado. The match will kick off at 7 p.m. CT with three hours of live television coverage beginning at 6:30 p.m. on FOX Sports Kansas City and FOX Sports Midwest Plus. Local radio broadcasts will air live on ESPN 99.3 FM (English) and La Grande 1340 AM (Spanish), and The Final Whistle postgame show will air immediately after the match on 99.3 FM.
All supporters are welcome to the official watch party for Saturday's match at No Other Pub in the Kansas City Power & Light District (1370 Grand Blvd.). Beginning at 6:30 p.m. CT, No Other Pub will offer $6 Till Vodka cocktails and an all-you-can-eat buffet featuring hamburgers, hot dogs, wings, cheese curds and more.
Sporting KC defender Erik Palmer-Brown and the U.S. U-20 Men's National Team kicked off their 2017 FIFA U-20 World Cup campaign with a 3-3 draw against Ecuador on Monday in Incheon, South Korea. The U.S. will play two more matches this week to round out the group stage, facing Senegal at 6 a.m. CT Thursday and Saudi Arabia at 4 a.m. CT Sunday. Both games will be televised live on FS1 and Telemundo.
Sports fans will have the opportunity to test their trivia knowledge against Sporting Kansas City players on Wednesday, May 31, when No Other Pub hosts Sports Trivia Night benefiting The Victory Project. Teams of 2-4 players will go head-to-head with the likes of Matt Besler, Graham Zusi, Seth Sinovic and Benny Feilhaber, with a variety of prizes up for grabs — including Sporting KC tickets, SportingStyle merchandise, No Other Pub gift cards and more. Teams will be quizzed on a wide range of topics covering several sports, not just soccer. Entry is $50 per team with all proceeds going to The Victory Project, the philanthropic arm of Sporting KC that unites players, coaches, staff and fans to help children battling cancer. Fresh off a bye week, the Swope Park Rangers (4-3-0, 12 points) will host unbeaten USL Western Conference leaders San Antonio FC (8-0-2, 26 points) on Friday at 7:30 p.m. CT. The Sporting Kansas City Academy U-18s and U-16s will play their penultimate matches of the 2016-17 U.S. Soccer Development Academy regular season on Saturday, facing the Dallas Texans in a doubleheader on the campus of the University of Tulsa.
