Sporting Kansas City earned a 1-1 road draw against Real Salt Lake on Sunday in the first leg of the Western Conference Semifinals, receiving a second-half equalizer from Diego Rubio at Rio Tinto Stadium. The result brings both teams back to Kansas City on level terms as Sporting KC hosts the decisive second leg this Sunday at Children's Mercy Park. Kickoff is set for 2 p.m. CT with national television coverage on ESPN and ESPN Deportes, while local radio broadcasts will air on ESPN 94.5 FM (English) and ESPN Deportes KC 1480 AM (Spanish).
Sunday will mark Sporting KC's first home playoff game at Children's Mercy Park since Manager Peter Vermes' side defeat Real Salt Lake on penalties in the 2013 MLS Cup. A limited number of tickets for the highly anticipated showdown are available at SeatGeek.com. Sporting KC can advance to the two-legged Western Conference Championship of the Audi 2018 MLS Cup Playoffs with either a win or a scoreless draw this weekend.

Sporting KC defender Jimmy Medranda’s long-range stunner from April’s 6-0 win over Vancouver Whitecaps FC is up for AT&T MLS Goal of the Year, while goalkeeper Tim Melia’s remarkable stop to deny Yordy Reyna in the same game is up for MLS Save of the Year. Fan voting in both categories is open at MLSsoccer.com through Sunday night.
After featuring in Sporting KC’s matchday squad against Real Salt Lake on Sunday, 18-year-old defender Jaylin Lindsey will rejoin the United States U-20 Men’s National Team for the resumption of the Concacaf U-20 Championship at IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida. Lindsey, who featured in the U-20s’ 7-1 win over Puerto Rico last Thursday, will be available for the Americans’ final two group-stage matches this week. The U-20s face Saint Vincent and the Grenadines at 7 p.m. CT Wednesday and Suriname at 4:30 p.m. CT Friday, with both games streaming live on Concacaf GO.
