Sporting Kansas City may have ended its 2019 season on Sunday with a road loss to FC Dallas, but four first-team players have since ventured to Europe for the continuation of UEFA Euro 2020 qualifying this week. Take note that all matches will stream live on the ESPN App and ESPN3.
Internationals in Europe
Defender Botond Barath, striker Krisztian Nemeth and the Hungary Men's National Team will travel to face 2018 FIFA World Cup finalist Croatia on Thurday at Stadion Poljud in Split (1:45 p.m. CT) before hosting Azerbaijan on Sunday at Groupama Arena in Budapest (11 a.m. CT).
Forward Johnny Russell and Scotland will resume their Group I campaign against Russia on Thursday, visiting the site of the 2018 FIFA World Cup Final at Luzhniki Stadium in Moscow for a 1:45 p.m. CT kickoff. The Scots will then return home to face Group I minnows San Marino at 11 a.m. CT on Sunday at Hampden Park in Glasgow.
Lastly, defender Nico Hasler and Liechtenstein are set to host a pair of Group J matches at Rheinpark Stadion in Vaduz, facing Armenia on Saturday before welcoming four-time World Cup champion Italy next Tuesday, Oct. 15. Both contests will kick off at 1:45 p.m. CT.
Rangers braced for double matchweek
With just a single loss in their last six matches, the Swope Park Rangers (6-17-8, 26 points) will take the field Tuesday at world-class Children's Mercy Park when they host Ottawa Fury FC (13-9-9, 48 points) in the club’s final home match of the 2019 USL Championship campaign. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. CT and tickets for the Eastern Conference clash are available at SeatGeek.com or at the stadium box office beginning at 5 p.m. CT on matchday.
Tuesday's contest will stream live on ESPN Plus, while the USL Championship Match Center and @SwopeRangers on Twitter will provide additional in-game updates. Fans will also have the opportunity to win an exclusive prize prize package courtesy of Smile Generation—including an electric toothbrush plus an SPR scarf, beanie, bobblehead and more—by using the hashtag #RangersSmile on Twitter.
Following their home finale, SPR will travel to meet two-time defending USL Cup champion Louisville City FC (15-7-9, 54 points) on Saturday. Kickoff at Louisville Slugger Field is slated for 6 p.m. CT with a live stream on ESPN Plus.
Paint on the Pitch
On Saturday, Sporting Club Events will host its inaugural Paint On The Pitch at Children’s Mercy Park from 5-8 p.m. CT. The interactive event features a two-hour painting class on the field, including two drink tickets, followed by a Sporting KC locker room tour. To purchase tickets, click here.
