Sporting Kansas City will host Costa Rica's Deportivo Saprissa at 7 p.m. CT on Thursday at Sporting Park in the first of two home games during the 2014-15 CONCACAF Champions League group stage. A limited number of tickets are available via Ticketmaster.com and the game will be nationally televised on FOX Sports 1 (English) and Univision Deportes Network (Spanish).

Major League Soccer's roster freeze deadline is set for 4 p.m. CT today. Following the deadline, no changes may be made to a team's active full roster until the day after MLS Cup. A team may obtain players in accordance with the extreme hardship rules and procedures to replace players who are injured or otherwise unavailable after the roster freeze deadline.
Two Sporting KC players will appear at Subway locations this week for autograph and photo opportunities. Goalkeeper Eric Kronberg will visit the Subway in Ottawa, Kansas (902 S. Main St.) from 5-6:30 p.m. CT tonight. Defender Chance Myers will meet fans at the Subway in Sedalia, Missouri (2750 S. Limit Ave.) from 5-6:30 p.m. CT on Friday.
On Wednesday, voting ends at 11:59 p.m. CT in The Pitch Best of Kansas City 2014. Sporting Park is nominated for "Best Place to Watch KC Pro Sports" and "Best Stadium" while Sporting KC is a finalist for "Best Thing That's Changed in KC in the Past Year." Matt Besler is in contention for "Best Local Hero" and voters can also choose between Besler, Graham Zusi and Dom Dwyer for "Best Sporting KC Player." Winners will be revealed in the annual Best of KC issue on Oct. 9.

Also on Friday, Major League Soccer's Facebook page will unveil the official MLS and Sporting KC custom covers for FIFA 15 from EA Sports. Besler and Zusi were two of 20 MLS stars in the running to be among the four MLS players who will appear on the league's downloadable cover. FIFA 15 hits stores in North America on Sept. 23 and is available to pre-order on EASports.com.
The Sporting Kansas City under-14, under-16 and under-18 Academy teams will begin play in the 2014-15 U.S. Soccer Development Academy season this weekend at Swope Soccer Village. All three teams will host the Colorado Rapids youth sides on Saturday and Sunday. Academy matches are open to the general public and free to attend.
