Tony Meola
Throughout his career, including six years in Kansas City, Tony Meola was an unstoppable force between the posts.
In Meola's first full season in Kansas City, he completed a rare feat earning MLS MVP, MLS Goalkeeper of the Year and MLS Cup MVP honors in the same year. Meola's 10 saves propeled the Wizards to a 1-0 win over the Chicago Fire in the MLS Cup Final and his 16 regular season shutouts still stand as an all-time record.
The New Jersey native was also a mainstay on the United States Men's National Team, earning 100 caps and appearing in three World Cups. Meola was inducted into the National Soccer Hall of Fame in 2012.
