The U.S. Men’s National Team beat Bermuda 6-2 in a World Cup Qualifier at Municipal Stadium. Goals for the U.S. came from a Peter Millar hat trick, a Gerard Baker brace and a Willy Roy strike. April 25, 2001: W 1-0 vs. Costa Rica

The U.S. Men’s National Team faced Costa Rica in a revenge match on April 25, 2001 at Arrowhead Stadium. The U.S. came in strong after a devastating loss the previous year to Costa Rica in the semifinal round of qualifying. These goals put the Yanks at the top spot in the Hexagonal and punched a ticket to the 2014 World Cup in Brazil. Zusi scored the game-winner in front of a sellout crowd, with center back Matt Besler helping secure a shutout in his first international match at Children’s Mercy Park.

July 13, 2015: T 1-1 vs. Panama

Children’s Mercy Park played host to two Gold Cup Group A finales. Haiti opened the night with a 1-0 defeat over Honduras, and the nightcap included the 1-1 draw between the U.S. and Panama.
