The Swope Park Rangers will open the 2017 United Soccer League season on Saturday, March 25 with a home game at Swope Soccer Village against OKC Energy FC, coached by Sporting KC legend Jimmy Nielsen. The full 2017 schedule will be announced in the coming days.
The Rangers, who are the reigning Western Conference Champions, faced the Energy four times in 2016, suffering defeat in the first three meetings before routing OKC 3-0 in the fourth meeting at Taft Stadium on Sept. 18 to clinch a berth in the USL Cup Playoffs.
The game comes one day prior to the anniversary of the Rangers' inaugural game and last year's season opener - a 2-1 victory over Portland Timbers 2 at Children's Mercy Park on March 26, 2016.
