Led by Manager Peter Vermes, Sporting KC has clinched a spot in the MLS Cup playoffs for the 10th time in 11 years, and a home playoff match for the second straight season. That is the second-most playoff appearances in that timespan behind only the Seattle Sounders. This year Sporting has been aided by a potent attack led by Daniel Salloi (16 goals, eight assists) and Johnny Russell (14 goals, eight assists).
