Sporting KC goalkeeper Tim Melia's penalty kick save and ensuing block on the rebound against the Vancouver Whitecaps on Saturday was voted MLS Save of the Week for Week 12. Melia's save earned 56% of the vote to take home his second Save of the Week award in 2017. He previously won in Week 7 for a stunning fingertip save against Portland's Darlington Nagbe. This is Melia's fifth career Save of the Week award.

The New York native is off to a stellar start to the 2017 season leading all goalkeepers in shutouts (7) and save percentage (78.8). His six wins are tied for tops in the League, while his goals against average (0.69) is second to FC Dallas goalkeeper Jesse Gonzalez and his 41 saves are fourth best.
Sporting KC returns to action this weekend with a pivotal Western Conference matchup against last-place Colorado Rapids. The match will kick off at 7 p.m. CT on Saturday and will be broadcast locally on FOX Sports Kansas City and the FOX Sports GO app.
