U.S. Soccer announced today the Veteran Player and Builder category ballots for election to the National Soccer Hall of Fame Class of 2020, which includes two former members of Sporting Kansas City on the Veteran Player ballot.
Chris Henderson and Frank Klopas are among the 12 nominees on the Veteran Player ballot. Henderson and Klopas both represented the United States Men's National Team and enjoyed stops in Kansas City during their storied careers. Henderson starred for the Wizards from 1999-2000, helping the club to an MLS Cup and Supporters' Shield title in his second season at the club, while Klopas was an integral contrubtor during Kansas City's first two MLS campaigns in 1996 and 1997.
U.S. Soccer unveiled last month the Player category ballots for election to the 2020 National Soccer Hall of Fame, which featured seven former Sporting players in Brad Davis, Justin Mapp, Herculez Gomez, Chris Klein, Josh Wolff, Eddie Johnson and Kevin Hartman.
Voting in all three ballots for the National Soccer Hall of Fame Class of 2020 will commence next Wednesday, March 18.
