Minnesota United enters the match on a five-game unbeaten streak having finished in first place in the NASL Spring Season. Sporting KC are two-time Open Cup champions, having won the tournament in 2004 and 2012.
Tickets for this week's home game start as low as $14 and are available via Ticketmaster.com or by calling 888-4KC-GOAL.
Should Sporting Kansas City advance past Minnesota United, they would host the winner of the Portland Timbers vs. Orlando City U-23s on Tuesday, June 24. Tickets for this match will go on sale to the general public at 10 a.m. CT on Thursday, June 19.
The U.S. Men's National Team, featuring Sporting KC's Matt Besler and Graham Zusi, will kick off their 2014 FIFA World Cup campaign on Monday against Ghana. The highly anticipated rematch of the 2010 FIFA World Cup Round of 16 will kick off at 5 p.m. CT on ESPN and Univision.
Sporting Kansas City will host an official watch party for the match -- and all matches at the 2014 FIFA World Cup -- at the Kansas City Power & Light District as part of Summer in the Soccer Capital, presented by The Sprint Framily Plan. Admission to Kansas City's official 2014 FIFA World Cup watch parties is free for all ages. Food and drink specials will be available, as well as limited edition "For Club and Country" merchandise.
Media covering today's USMNT Watch Party will need to pick up wrist bands for media access. Wrist bands will be available at media check-in which is located on Grand Blvd. next to McFadden's Kansas City. All live trucks will be instructed to park on Grand Blvd. Please contact Molly Dreska, (516) 567-4468, upon arrival.
Additionally, tickets are available for a private party at Mosaic for all U.S. Men's National Team matches. Block. Tickets can also be purchased at Mosaic.
Prior to the match, Sporting Kansas City fans will have the opportunity to meet defender Chance Myers and midfielder Benny Feilhaber at the Sprint store in the Kansas City Power and Light District (161 E. 14st Street).
