EVENT UPDATE:The Victory Lap 5K Run & Walk, originally scheduled for Friday, Oct. 23, at Children's Mercy Park, will now take place virtually. See below for more information.

Due to scheduling conflicts with the Sporting Kansas City home match this Saturday at Children's Mercy Park, and to ensure the health and safety of everyone attending that game, The Victory Lap 5K Run & Walk will now take place virtually from Oct. 23-31. All participants signed up for the event will now participate virtually.

The fastest way to get custom race content, share your adventure and upload your results is by using the RaceJoy app. Participants can also use a fitness device of their choice and enter their results after accessing the results tab of the registration page

In addition to walking or running their 3.1 miles, all participants are welcome to Saturday's match against the Colorado Rapids at Children’s Mercy Park. As an added perk, Sporting is offering one free ticket to each race participant. Individuals can contact Sporting KC Community Programs Director Ashley Allen at ashley.allen@sportingkc.com.

At Saturday's match, race participants will be able to pick up their T-shirt and race medal on the Toyota Plaza from 6-7:45 p.m. Individuals unable to attend the match will receive their items in the mail.

Since its founding in 2013, The Victory Project has united Sporting KC players, fans and staff in the battle against childhood cancer. In addition to raising funds that address specific needs of children undergoing cancer treatment, the organization has shared incredible memories with well over 150 Victory Project Honorees — special guests affected by cancer who are invited to Children’s Mercy Park alongside their families for an unforgettable experience at every Sporting home match.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, The Victory Project and Sporting Kansas City have also united with community partners to launch Sporting Serves, a philanthropic initiative that provides relief to individuals and families across the metropolitan area.
