When it comes to professional sports teams, no city in America had a better 2015 than Kansas City. On the soccer front alone, Sporting Kansas City won the 2015 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup and advanced to the MLS Cup Playoffs for a fifth straight year and FC Kansas City won their second straight NWSL championship. The Kansas City Royals won their first World Series since 1985 and the Kansas City Chiefs used a 10-game winning team to clinch their second playoff berth in three seasons. Throw in successful seasons from many of the local colleges - Kansas, Kansas State, Missouri, Northwest Missouri State, etc. - and no city saw more success than the City of Fountains.
