SPORTING KC HOSTS COLUMBUS CREW ON SUNDAY
Sporting Kansas City hosts the Columbus Crew on Sunday at Sporting Park. The match will be nationally televised on NBC Sports with coverage beginning at 3 p.m. CT. It can also be heard on Sports Radio 810-WHB, with pregame coverage starting at 2:30 p.m. CT, and La Gran D 1340.
Columbus sits atop the Eastern Conference with 12 points, including three wins to open the 2014 season. The Crew did not earn a victory during the month of April and closed the month with a 1-1 draw against the New York Red Bulls last weekend at Crew Stadium.
The first 10,000 fans to arrive to the stadium on Sunday will recieve a pair of sunglasses courtesy of match sponsor Sabates Eye Center. Prior to the match, Sporting KC players and staff will receive their rings in an on-field ceremony. All fans are encouraged to be in their seats by 1:45 p.m. CT.
FANS WILL HAVE OPPORTUNITY TO PARTAKE IN CHAMPIONSHIP RING CEREMONY
Sporting Kansas City fans have an opportunity to be a part of the championship ring ceremony that will take place prior to Sunday's match. To enter the sweepstakes, fans must download and register Sporting Club Uphoria on their iPhone or Android phone devices. Five registered users of Sporting Club Uphoria will be chosen to not only be on the field for the ring presentation, but they will have the opportunity to present a ring to a Sporting KC player or member of the coaching staff. The contest will close 5 p.m. CT on Thursday. Winners will be notified on Friday.
THE BEAUTIFUL GAME ART EXHIBIT
Sporting KC and the ArtsKC fund will unviel The Beautiful Game on Friday. Twenty-four local artists will showcase their original works, each reflecting the artistic, beautiful and sometimes abstract nature of soccer. Fans are encouraged to join the artists and Sporting Kansas City players while enjoying the exhibit as part of First Friday. The Beautiful Game will take place from 6-8 p.m. CT at the Historic Lowe and Campbell building, 1511 Baltimore Ave, KCMO. Admission for the gallery is $25 and includes two free drinks (beer or wine). The tickets and sales proceeds benefit the Victory Project and the ArtsKC fund. Take a sneak peak at some of the artwork.
SPORTING KC TEAMS UP WITH KINCAID COACH
Sporting Kansas City has teamed with Kincaid Coach lines to provides game day transportation for fans who need a ride to home matches. Kincaid Coach has been a club sponsor since 2011. Beginning on May 4, buses will pick up and drop off at Rosanna Square (behind McDonalds) off 119th and Metcalf in Overland Park, Kansas for Sporting KC home matches. Pick-up times are approximately one hour before kickoff and fans will be dropped off curbside at Sporting Park 30 minutes after each home match with buses leaving for Rosanna Square.
Fans can make reservations online at www.kincaidcoach.com or by calling 913-441-6200 between the hours of 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday-Friday. Payment must be made at the time of the reservation. Ticket holders will be transported on school buses.
NEW ENGLAND REVOLUTION END SPORTING KC'S UNBEATEN RUN
Sporting KC fell 2-0 to the New England Revolution on Saturday at Gillette Stadium. The match was scoreless until second half stoppage time when former Sporting KC striker Teal Bunbury scored his first goal since joining the Revolution in February. Three minutes later, Lee Nguyen converted a penalty kick after an Oriol Rosell hand ball in the box.

TICKETS ON SALE TO SEE SPORTING KC FACE PREMIER LEAGUE'S MANCHESTER CITY FC
Tickets for Sporting Kansas City's international friendly against English Premier League club Manchester City on July 23 at Sporting Park went on sale to the general public at 10 a.m. CT on Friday and are available via Ticketmaster.com.
The highly anticipated international friendly will be Manchester City's first against an MLS club since winning the English Premier League in 2012, as well as the first on their tour of the United States this summer. Tickets start at $50 for the showcase event in Sporting Kansas City's Summer in the Soccer Capital series, presented by Sprint. More information on the international friendly can be found here.
SPORTING KC AND COORS LIGHT ENTER NEW PARTNERSHIP
MillerCoors and Sporting Kansas City announced a new sponsorship deal that makes Coors Light the club's official domestic beer partner. The partnership includes naming rights for the Coors Light Cold Zone, an exclusive terrace area in the southwest corner of Sporting Park for legal-drinking-age fans to enjoy all-inclusive food and beverage options during Sporting Kansas City home matches. SPORTING KC TO ENTER 2014 U.S. OPEN CUP IN FOURTH ROUND
U.S. Soccer announced the competition format for the 2014 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup. All U.S.-based Major League Soccer clubs will enter this year's tournament during the fourth round, to be held June 10-18.
The 101st edition of the tournament will kick off on May 7 and will be conducted on a single-elimination, one-game-knockout basis through the final on Sept. 30 or Oct. 1. This year's competition features the largest field in the tournament's modern era (995-present) with 80 teams.
Amateur teams will account for 42 of the 80 entries and will enter the competition in the first two rounds. The remaining 38 representatives encompass Division I, Division II and Division III professional clubs, who will enter in the second (USL PRO), third (NASL) and fourth (MLS) rounds.
