Sporting Kansas City midfielder Memo Rodriguez and forward Willy Agada were named to the MLS Team of the Matchday presented by Audi on Monday as two of the top 20 players in Major League Soccer for Matchday 25 of the regular season.
The duo teamed up for the opening goal in Sporting's 3-2 win over FC Dallas at Children's Mercy Park on Sunday as Rodriguez delivered an in-swinging corner kick from the left side that Agada head home in the 11th minute.
A dozen minutes later, Agada would score his second of the night -- again on a header -- as the 24-year-old Nigerian moved into a tie for fifth in club history with his sixth career multi-goal game in the regular season. Moreover, Agada now has 16 goals in 16 regular season starts at Children's Mercy Park since joining the team in 2022.
Rodriguez, who has a team-leading six assists this year, then delivered one of Sportingās finest moments of the season as he latched onto a loose ball at the top of the box in the 82nd minute and hammered a right-footed rocket into the right corner for the game-winning goal that is a finalist for AT&T Goal of the Matchday.
