Sporting Kansas City finalized its schedule on Wednesday for the 2016 preseason, presented by Children's Mercy.
The club will play three scrimmages in Tucson, Arizona — beginning Saturday against FC Tucson at 11 a.m. CT — before returning to Kansas City from Feb. 8-13. Then it's back out to Kino Sports Complex for four matches in the Desert Diamond Cup, held from Feb. 17-27.
Sporting Kansas City arrived in Arizona this weekend to begin preparations for a 2016 campaign that will involve 34 MLS regular season matches, four games in the CONCACAF Champions League group stage and a defense of the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup. The Swope Park Rangers will join Sporting Kansas City for the second phase of preseason and compete in the Desert Diamond Cup ahead of the club's inaugural USL season in 2016.
