Sporting KC to host King of the Court Futsal Tournaments every Saturday in July

During the month of July, a new summer series of soccer and entertainment is hitting futsal courts in Kansas City, Kansas.

Sporting Kansas City will host a King of the Court Futsal Tournament every Saturday in July, featuring 4-v-4 matches for players ages 8 and up as well as a block party complete with music, yard games, skills challenges, bounce houses and Sporting KC player appearances and autograph sessions. Tournament registration is free for all teams and now open at SportingKC.com/kingofthecourt.

Each King of the Court Futsal Tournament will run from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. Teams that don’t register online may do so on-site beginning at 8:30 a.m. CT every Saturday. Participating players must be at least eight years old, while the block party is open to children and families of all ages. Click here for the official tournament rules.

The first King of the Court competition kicks off this Saturday at Shawnee Park (S 7th Street and Shawnee Avenue - Kansas City, KS 66105). Tournament play and block party festivities will start at 10 a.m. and two Sporting KC players will be in attendance for autograph and photo opportunities with fans.

Another three tournaments will be held July 8, 15 and 22 before the King of the Court playoffs and championship will be decided on the Sporting Plaza at Children’s Mercy Park on July 29, prior to Sporting Kansas City’s home match against the Chicago Fire.
