FOX Sports today announced the FOX broadcast network will feature two MLS matches airing live adjacent to regional National Football League broadcasts on Sept. 24. FOX Sports’ MLS and NFL presentation features a battle Sporting Kansas City and the LA Galaxy at Children’s Mercy Park, which will now kick off at 1 p.m. CT. The game was originally slated for noon ET on ESPN.
Sporting KC’s matchup with the Galaxy will be available in both teams’ home markets as well as select cities across the U.S. Those areas without the FOX television broadcast of the MLS match will receive a regional NFL broadcast at that time. In addition, soccer fans in markets with an NFL game on FOX can watch Sporting KC’s match live on FOX Sports GO.
The Western Conference clash between Sporting KC and LA will serve as the first game in a FOX doubleheader, with the Montreal Impact visiting Atlanta United FC at 4 p.m. CT. Likewise, those areas not receiving the late MLS broadcast on television will receive a regional NFL broadcast at that time and can watch #ATLvMTL on FOX Sports GO.
This is the second straight season FOX Sports has showcased a joint MLS and NFL lineup, televising games from the two leagues on the same network at the same time. Sporting KC was involved in the first occasion last September, coincidentally when the club hosted LA.
All FOX soccer matches can be live streamed via FOX Sports GO and FOX Soccer Match Pass. FOX Sports GO is available on FOXSportsGO.com or on the FOX Sports GO app, which can be downloaded from iTunes, Google Play, Amazon App Store and Windows Store. Streaming is also now available on several connected devices, including Apple TV, Android TV, FireTV, Roku, Chromecast and Xbox One.
Sporting Kansas City is in the midst of a club-record 22-game home unbeaten streak in the MLS regular season, tied for the fourth-longest run in league history. Single-game tickets for the rest of Sporting KC's home matches, including a limited number of tickets for the 2017 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup Final on Sept. 20, are on sale at SeatGeek.com.
