Eleven Sporting KC Academy players make college commitments

Sporting KC Academy huddle - Winter Showcase

Eleven Sporting Kansas City Academy players have signed their National Letters of Intent to play Division 1 soccer this week.


Three goalkeepers, three midfielders and five forwards from the Sporting KC Academy all committed to college programs around the country.


Grayson Barber, who has spent time in the U.S. Under-17 Residency Program in the past, will head to Clemson where he'll be joined by fellow Academy forward Mason Visconti.


Goalkeeper Alex Brown will also head to South Carolina to join Coastal Carolina, while Colin Innes and Wilson Harris will head to Kentucky to play for the University of Kentucky and the University of Louisville, respectively.


Connor Jordan-Hyde will also had east to join Virginia Tech, while midfielder Roman Knox is set to link up with NCAA powerhouse the University of North Carolina. Forward Dawson Lee will remain local, joining Missouri State and midfielder Isaac McGinnis will compete in the Ivy League at the University of Pennsylvania.


Finally, forward Reagan Mugume-Rice will jet off to the West Coast to join Cal Poly and Sporting KC Academy Player of the Year, Alec Wons, is set to play for Marquette in the fall.
