Sporting KC Homegrown forward Daniel Salloi earned his third cap for the Hungary Under-21 National Team on Thursday, starting and playing the full 90 minutes during a 4-0 win over Cyprus in UEFA Euro Under-21 Championship qualification at Hidegkuti Nandor Stadion in Budapest.

Salloi produced an energetic performance along the frontline, recording an assist on Hungary’s second goal of the night. The 21-year-old found a pocket of space on the right side of the area and stood up a pin-point cross to the far post where Attila Szalai was waiting to crash a header into the net.

The assist was his third in as many games for Hungary in the Euro U-21 Championship qualification campaign, while he also has one goal in the competition.

Salloi had three openings in the second half to find the net himself, but saw two efforts well saved by Cyprus goalkeeper Antreas Paraskevas and dragged another narrowly wide of the post from distance.

The win brought Hungary up to second in Group 6 with 11 points, only trailing Belgium by three points – who have played one more game. Salloi and Hungary are set to face Belgium in a top-of-the-group showdown this coming Monday, March 26 at Den Dreef Stadium in Leuven, Belgium.
