National TV: #PHIvSKC highlights Week 30 slate in MLS

National TV - 2018 Week 30 DL - #PHIvSKC

Western Conference leaders Sporting Kansas City will continue their pursuit of a club-record eighth straight playoff berth Sunday when they visit the Philadelphia Union in a nationally televised cross-conference clash on ESPN and ESPN Deportes. Kickoff at Talen Energy Stadium is slated for noon CT with local radio broadcasts airing on Sports Radio 810 WHB and ESPN Deportes KC 1480 AM.

#PHIvSKC highlights the Week 30 slate as one of three nationally televised MLS matches. We give a rapid-fire rundown of those games in the space below.

LAFC vs. San Jose Earthquakes | 2:30 p.m. CT | Twitter & Univision

Riding a five-game unbeaten run, LAFC (13-7-8, 47 points) is very much in the hunt for a top-two finish in the West and a Knockout Round bye that goes with it. The expansion side will welcome the worst team in MLS, as San Jose (4-17-8, 20 points) will be just three days removed from a gut-wrenching 4-3 home defeat to Supporters' Shield leaders Atlanta United FC. Expect Benny Feilhaber and LAFC to hold the upper hand in this battle between California clubs.

Philadelphia Union vs. Sporting KC | Noon CT | ESPN & ESPN Deportes

The Union (13-12-4, 43 points) secured a gargantuan 1-0 road win over the Sounders on Wednesday, snapping Seattle's win streak at nine games. The victory will do wonders for Philadelphia's playoff hopes, as they now sit eight points above the playoff line in the East. With a U.S. Open Cup Final looming Wednesday in Houston, will Philadelphia opt to rest their starters against a Sporting KC outfit (15-7-6, 51 points) that has won six of its last seven? Manager Peter Vermes' men will be hungry for points, knowing a top-four finish will bring the playoffs back to Children's Mercy Park for the first time since 2013.

LA Galaxy vs. Seattle Sounders FC | 6 p.m. CT | FS1 & FOX Deportes

Despite the regular, jaw-dropping heroics of Zlatan Ibrahimovic, the LA Galaxy (10-11-8, 38 points) find themselves six points below the playoff line in the West. Much of this is due to a leaky defense that has been breached 59 times over the course of 2018, third-most in MLS. With interim head coach Dominic Kinnear replacing the departed Sigi Schmid, LA can't afford to drop points versus a surging Seattle side (13-10-5, 44 points) that had won nine straight before falling to Philadelphia on Wednesday. Expect loads of goals in any game the Galaxy are involved in this season.
