The Swope Park Rangers completed their preseason schedule with a 4-0 victory over USL League Two side Texas United FC at Swope Soccer Village on Saturday afternoon.
Sporting KC Academy product Wilson Harris opened the scoring early, first flicking a ball out wide for Jerome Ngom Mbekeli to race into the area, before the Cameroonian cut the ball back to Harris who calmly slotted the ball beyond the goalkeeper.
In the 39th minute, Ayyoub Allach doubled the lead after he was found by a defense-splitting ball from Wan Kuzain, and Allach took his time before slamming a finish into the corner to make the halftime score 2-0.
Harris bagged his second of the game in the 68th minute, showing great composure to round the goalkeeper and tap into an empty net after being slid through by substitute Killian Colombie.
Harris completed an impressive day with an assist in the 88th minute when his clipped pass found Sean Karani streaking through, and the Academy product went past the goalkeeper before finishing to make the final score 4-0.
The focus now shifts to the USL Championship regular season which opens next Saturday, March 9, with a visit to MSU Soccer Park to take on New York Red Bulls II at 12 p.m. CT. The Rangers' home opener is on March 23 against the Pittsburgh Riverhounds at Children's Mercy Park. All USL Championship games are available via ESPN+.
