Sporting Kansas City II fell to a 1-0 defeat against OKC Energy FC in a friendly match on Friday afternoon at the OCCHD Training Facility in Oklahoma City.
Sporting II had a good chance in a goalless first half, as Enoch Mushagalusa cut inside of his man on the edge of the area but his eventual effort sailed narrowly over the crossbar.
The hosts took the lead early in the second period as Omar Gordon’s trickery down the left wing allowed him to set up Jaime Chavez eight yards from goal and the striker made no mistake, giving his side a 1-0 lead that would hold for the remainder of the game.
Sporting KC II will resume the 2020 USL Championship season on Saturday, July 18 with a trip to Indianapolis to face off against Indy Eleven at Lucas Oil Stadium.
