The votes are in from Round 3 at the MLS is Back Tournament group stage, and Gerso Fernandes has taken home AT&T Goal of the Week honors.
The Sporting Kansas City forward managed a stunning solo effort in a 2-0 win against Real Salt Lake, cutting onto his left foot and curling home with conviction to the far post. It was a tight one, as Fernandes earned 32.2% of the vote in first place.
The gap between second and third place was minor, though LAFC forward Bradley Wright-Phillips got a slight bump at 22.76% of the vote for a runner-up finish. His 111th career MLS goal was a beauty, as he lasered home a right-footed shot from 20-plus yards out. The No. 3 spot belonged to San Jose Earthquakes winger Cristian Espinoza with 21.98% of the vote, as he made a difficult left-footed effort look easy.
Colorado Rapids winger Jonathan Lewis placed fourth with 14.71% of the vote, giving his side a 2-2 draw against Minnesota United with a smooth volley. NYCFC winger Ismael Tajouri-Shradi brought up the rear with 8.36% of the vote, after he collected a long ball and finished past Inter Miami goalkeeper Luis Robles in a 1-0 win that sent his side through to the Knockout Round.
