Sporting Kansas City joins in the mourning of exceptional sports journalist Terez Paylor, who passed away Tuesday at the age of 37.
Paylor joined the Kansas City Star in 2006 after graduating from Howard University and spent almost 12 years as a leading sports beat writer for the publication. He covered Sporting Kansas City from 2009-2012, notably reporting on the club’s momentous rebrand and move into Children’s Mercy Park.
Paylor, a Pro Football Hall of Fame voter, was the Star’s primary beat writer for the Kansas City Chiefs from 2013-2018. He then became nationally known as a senior NFL writer for Yahoo! Sports in a role he held until his passing.
Sporting Kansas City extends its deepest sympathy to Paylor’s family and friends.
