The stadium's health and safety plans include physically distanced seating, pod seating, stadium sanitation protocols, touchless entry, digital ticketing and mask requirements. A complete set of health and safety protocols at Kino North Complex can be found at FCTucson.com/medicalprotocols.
Saturday will see Sporting take the field for the final exhibition match of the club’s 2021 preseason, presented by Children’s Mercy, as the team is slated to return to Kansas City on Saturday night. Manager Peter Vermes’ side has posted a 1-1-1 preseason record thus far with a 4-0 win over Phoenix Rising FC on March 13, a 1-0 loss to the Colorado Rapids on March 20 and a 3-3 draw with the Portland Timbers on March 24 that saw Khiry Shelton, Wilson Harris and Roger Espinoza score goals.
The five-time MLS Cup champion Galaxy are led by head coach Greg Vanney, who spent seven seasons at Toronto FC from 2014-2020 before making his move to California. With Mexican internationals Javier "Chicharito" Hernandez and Jonathan dos Santos at his disposal, Vanney is looking to bring LA back into contention this year after the Galaxy missed the playoffs with a 10th-place finish in the West last fall.
Upon returning to Kansas City this weekend, Sporting will train for another two weeks at Compass Minerals National Performance Center before kicking off the 2021 MLS regular season at 7 p.m. CT on Saturday, April 17, at the New York Red Bulls. The highly anticipated Children’s Mercy Park home opener is scheduled for Friday, April 23, when Sporting hosts Orlando City SC at 6:30 p.m. CT.
Tickets to Sporting’s first four regular season home matches are now available at SeatGeek.com while supplies last.
