Sporting Kansas City has recalled goalkeeper Adrian Zendejas from his loan to the club’s USL affiliate, the Swope Park Rangers. Zendejas started each of the Rangers’ opening two games of the 2017 USL season, winning 3-1 against OKC Energy FC on Saturday and 1-0 against Portland Timbers 2 on Wednesday.
The 21-year-old has now gone 10-1-0 as a member of the Rangers since joining the club last June, posting a 0.79 goals against average with six shutouts. At home, Zendejas has gone 8-0-0 with a 0.43 goals against average. The Chula Vista, Calif. native signed a MLS contract with Sporting KC in December.
Sporting KC defenders Erik Palmer-Brown, Tyler Pasher and Colton Storm all remain on loan with the Rangers, having started last night’s shutout victory over Timbers 2.
Sporting KC is currently north of the border ahead of tomorrow night’s showdown with last season’s MLS Cup runner-up, Toronto FC. Kickoff from BMO Field is set for 6:30 p.m. CT on FOX Sports 1 and FOX Deportes, while Sports Radio 810 WHB (English) and La Grande 1340 AM (Spanish) will have call on the radio.
