The Swope Park Rangers (7-4-4, 5th place) will welcome USL expansion side Las Vegas Lights FC (4-5-4, 12th place) to Children’s Mercy Park on Sunday for a 4 p.m. CT kick off.
Tickets for the game are available online at SeatGeek.com or at the stadium box office prior to kick off. Sunday’s match will be streamed live on ESPN+ and in-game updates will also be available via the USLsoccer.com Match Center.
Both teams are coming off 4-1 results, as Las Vegas won 4-1 over Seattle Sounders FC 2 while the Rangers fell 4-1 at Fresno FC last weekend.
The Rangers enter Sunday’s showdown with a 14-game home unbeaten streak that dates back to last August. Meanwhile, Las Vegas won their inaugural match on the road - a 3-2 victory at Fresno FC on March 17 - but are winless in four away matches since, including three straight road losses.
SPR and Las Vegas first met in March with the Lights securing a 2-1 victory at Cashman Field. Sunday’s rematch will see the Lights without Technical Director Jose Luis Sanchez Sola, who is serving an eight-game suspension, and defender Joel Huiqui, who is suspended for caution accumulation after receiving his eighth yellow card in 12 appearances.
The Rangers have received goals from eight different players this season. Most recently, 18-year-old Sporting KC Academy product Wilson Harris scored his first professional goal last Sunday and became the team’s second youngest all-time goal scorer. Harris re-joined the Sporting KC Academy U-19’s this week for the U.S. Soccer Development Academy Playoffs in California, scoring in back-to-back games.
Harris is one of five players on Academy contracts to feature for SPR this season. In addition, 14 players on loan from Sporting Kansas City have logged minutes for the Rangers in 2018 -- led by rookie centerback Graham Smith, who made his Sporting KC debut on Saturday against the Houston Dynamo.
